Alighting again on Substack
Happy to be back :-)
Lees je liever in het Nederlands? Dat vind je hier.
It’s been some time since I posted for the last time on Substack (August 2024), and in these last weeks I’ve felt the pull to come back here and post again.
It was in little moments where insights suddenly popped up and I’d felt like sharing. And then each time, this little voice in my head told me “unless this is a complete and round idea, well elaborated, you should not publish it”… talk about inner critic!
So I’ve resolved myself to do it anyway, even if it is not “round” or “perfect” or considers all possible avenues.
I want to share the real me, what’s happening for me, what’s hurting, where my heart is bursting over. And I want to connect with you! Please share your experiences or whatever else comes up for you when reading my words… point me to good articles or music or books which have helped you deal with a similar situation… I just love to hear from the real you and have a conversation where we both are heard.
And I’m inspired to keep it short, because as much as I like browsing through my Substack inbox, reading several 20 min long posts takes up too much of my time. And I assume the same applies to you!
So, if you’re new to here - this all is me in different moments of my life.

I’ve started my substack during Covid times to try to make sense what was happening around and inside me. So be forewarned if you venture into my 2023-2024 posts.
Since then, my life has felt quite bleak - not overall, but the general feeling that we’re all traumatized by what has happened then and it has not been repaired. That things have not gone back to “normal” as many pretend… and that many things have been accelerating - our disconnection, that values disappear, things going in the right direction seem to have reversed course (freedom of expression, natural birth, climate change, health…), that even the “spiritual scene” is increasingly only accessible against money… and now AI putting 10 (100?) times the accelerator on all.
At the same time many beautiful things have happened - we found our dream house and have really started putting our roots down, I’ve started training as a bodywork therapist and am uncovering lots of my own patterns and fears in my own sessions… wonderful times with my kids (three of the four have already left the nest now) and a fulfilling relationship.
And still.
Just the feeling that something is “off”, and I cannot put my finger on it. That not only me but others are swimming, and it hard to get the feet down on the ground.
And only the last weeks it all starts again to make more sense, and I feel called back here, from a place where I’m not drowning anymore, but manage to swim sometimes, and at moments even float for a little while and breathe deeply and take in the blue, blue sky…
What you’ll find here:
what has happened in my life - what life has thrown me and how I’ve dealt with it (or not…)
insights from my bodywork therapy training with NICE (Netherlands Institute for Core Energetics)
being with babies and children - this is where I am called to work with in the future, and I’m currently starting to put my ideas together so I can be of service for the next generation.
Welcome, y’all! Looking so much forward to spending time with you.
Hugs from Belgium,
Marion
